Relay For Life 2012 Wrap Up

The 2012 Mudgee and District Relay For Life in May 2012 was a tremendous success and now that the final tally has been calculated, we’d love to thank all of the locals, friends, family and even people from interstate who have kindly donated money towards our fundraising efforts.

Our Professionals Mudgee team came close to raising $4,000 dollars of the overall $169,367.28 that was raised in the Mudgee region. The region’s goal of $75,000 was more than doubled in actual fundraising, and what an amazing effort by everyone involved – a whopping 66 teams!

Just to recap, in mid May and with a great crowd of 868 people we were off and walking, even in the brisk air of a Saturday and Sunday morning, and we were pumped about the funds we’d raised for the Cancer Council. We were entertained, and certainly kept on our toes throughout the entire event. Our legs have well and truly recovered now and we’d like to offer a massive “congratulations” to the organisers for making it such a successful event.

We’d love to see these efforts continued next year and hope to see all the friendly faces from this year at the next event. We’ll keep you posted with details on the I Love Mudgee blog and facebook page!

Update on Mudgee Relay for Life 2012

We’re coming a strong 8th out of 52 teams taking part in the Mudgee Relay For Life on May 12th 2012, but we’re not quite at our fundraising target yet, so we’re asking for support by the way of sharing this with your family and friends or kindly donating as much or as little as you can to our team’s fundraising efforts.

We have been very humbled by the kind contributions that not only have our local counterparts donated, but also our wider networks across much of the country. It means a lot to have the support of our networks of friends and family, and we thank you all very much for your generosity.

One of the great things about having such a wonderful community behind us is knowing that all the efforts we go to to raise funds, it is ultimately our beloved community that is helping the Cancer Council find ways to manage and research cancer and help cancer patients.

There would be few people in Mudgee who don’t know someone who has been affected by cancer of some type, so it’s something that we know is close to the Mudgee’s community’s heart. Together we can help kick cancer’s butt, so again, we thank everyone who’s shown their support thus far, and ask anyone who can, to share this post, or donate to our team!

To get involved or find out which teams are currently registered, visit the Mudgee Relay For Life page here or to help team “Professionals Real Estate Mudgee” achieve our goal of $5000, you can click here to donate or join our team. We’d love to have your support!

Mudgee Relay For Life 2012

It’s on again this year; the Mudgee Relay For Life! We’re keen to get as many people involved as we can and whilst there are already a number of registered teams we’d love to see more Mudgee support, whether by way of donations, spreading the word or participation.

The February information evening had a great turnout, and we’d love to encourage anyone who is participating or just wanting to know more about the event to come along the March information session being held on the 7th of March 2012 from 6pm at Club Mudgee Soldiers Club, 99 Mortimer Street. There are monthly information sessions leading up to the event that takes place on the 12th of May 2012.

Early bird registrations are being accepted until the 27th of April 2012 for just $15 per person, and $20 thereafter. The Relay For Life is a great way to show your support for the Cancer Council and the work that they do, as well as see great parts of the Mudgee Region.

To get involved or find out which teams are currently registered, visit the Mudgee Relay For Life page here or to help team “Professionals Real Estate Mudgee” achieve our goal of $1500, you can click here to donate or join our team. We’d love to have your support!

Piece By Piece – We Can Help Find a Cure

As major advocates of breast cancer research and fundraising, we think it’s important to support other companies and groups in their efforts to conquer breast cancer, so we thought today we’d tell you about Ford’s campaign – Piece by Piece, which is about helping raise funds, as well as put together a collage of photos that will help sufferers, survivors, and family and friends to deal with effects of breast cancer.

Piece by Piece supports the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and has begun developing an online mosaic built with the faces and photos of people who want to help the NBCF in their mission to help find a cure.

All you do is choose a number of pieces (your photo will appear this many times), upload your photo and then sponsor an amount as little as $1 per piece that you contribute to the mosaic. You can add a message of encouragement, in memoriam, or whatever you feel will help people who visit the Piece by Piece website.

For those of you in Mudgee who are avid supporters, or if you’d simply like to spread the word about this online masterpiece, you can share this post or visit www.piecebypiece.net.au, where you’ll see the images that make up the mosaic thus far. We hope you can help, because every little piece helps researchers put together the puzzle, and brings us that much closer to finding a cure.

Don’t Forget Your Pink Ribbon!

As you’d be aware, October is Pink Ribbon Month and during this month many businesses don their pink ribbons to help support the cause. That includes Professionals Mudgee Real Estate where we sell pink ribbons and merchandise on behalf of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) throughout the month of October.

In addition to campaigning in October, Professionals Mudgee also makes a contribution to the NBCF for every home we sell.

Due to our Group’s collective efforts we have now raised in excess of $1,750,000 for the NBCF and thanks to the support from the community this number keeps growing. But whether you purchase your pink ribbons through our office or elsewhere, the only thing that matters is that you do go out and buy your pink ribbon this year, because every dollar counts.

Buying a pink ribbon isn’t just about raising money though, it’s also about showing your support and helping to raise awareness for the women and men suffering from this terrible disease.

Hopefully we are getting closer to finding the cure to Breast Cancer and when we do it will be because of the support of communities like Mudgee who help organisations like the NBCF do the fantastic work that they do with research and support.

Hopefully we’ll see you around the Mudgee community wearing your pink ribbon in support of those people in our lives who are suffering from breast cancer, and if you would like to purchase any Pink Ribbon merchandise or make a donation to the NBCF then drop into Professionals Mudgee on at 91 Market Street and help us get a step closer to a cure.
