Raising hope for zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030

Mudgee has turned pink for the month of October to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a cause that is very close to our hearts here at Professionals Mudgee.

As Diamond Partners with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) we are committed to raising funds dedicated to breast cancer research that will hopefully one day lead to a cure.

The statistics for breast cancer are staggering. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and eight women die from breast cancer everyday in Australia.

These numbers are far too high and NBCF has vowed to change that by setting the aspirational goal of reaching zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.

We will help them reach their goal by raising funds and awareness for their life-changing research.

Our offices, and other Professionals offices around Australia, help NBCF all year round by donating a portion of the commission from each property sale.

As a group, Professionals have raised more than $2.9 million for the NBCF and this number continues to grow daily. We hope to reach our target of $3 million by the end of this month.

You can help support the NBCF too! Simply list with us and know that a portion of every sale goes to this very worthy charity or drop into the Professionals Mudgee office at 79 church Street to make a donation to NBCF or purchase pink ribbon merchandise.

We also encourage everyone to head to www.professionalspink.com.au to learn more about the Professionals involvement with the NBCF and how our support is helping towards a cure for breast cancer.

Get your pink on to help find a cure for breast cancer

October is breast cancer awareness month and a very important time of year for the team at Professionals Mudgee Real Estate, because we are committed to supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) in the race for a cure.

One in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime and the more we can learn about this disease the better chance we have of saving lives and improving the quality of life for those diagnosed.

When the NBCF started 20 years ago, about 30% of women diagnosed with breast cancer passed away. The good news is that this figure has now halved, and there’s little doubt that it’s largely due to research and a better understanding of breast cancer prevention and treatments.

But we still have a long way to go before we can reach the NBCF’s goal of zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030 and beyond.

Every little bit helps, and the Professionals Mudgee Real Estate is committed to supporting breast cancer research by donating a portion of every property sold to the NBCF.

So far the Professionals group has helped raise over $2.7 million for the NBCF and this number continues to grow daily.

Everyone in the Mudgee community can help too, by listing with us or by dropping into our office at 79 Church Street to make a donation to the NBCF or buy Pink Ribbon merchandise.

You can learn more about Professionals Mudgee Real Estate and our partnership with the NBCF at www.professionalspink.com.au.

How you can help find a cure for breast cancer

You may have noticed a bit more pink around Mudgee lately, and that’s because it’s currently breast cancer awareness month, which is a cause that is very close to our hearts here at Professionals Mudgee Real Estate.

Many are already aware of a disease called breast cancer, but how many really understand what can be done to help prevent it? Or what can be done to help find a cure?

One in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, which is a shockingly high statistic, and so the more we can learn about this awful disease the better.

That’s why there are organisations like the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) who provide dedicated research into breast cancer and are helping to improve people’s understanding of the disease.

Breast cancer survival rates have improved greatly over the last 20 years. When the NBCF was first established in 1994, about 30% of women diagnosed with breast cancer passed away. This figure has now halved.

There is still a long way to go though, and the NBCF hopes to reach the goal of zero deaths by 2030 and beyond.

Professionals Mudgee Real Estate is committed to supporting breast cancer research and we donate a portion of every property sold to the NBCF. As a group, Professionals have helped raise more than $2.5 million for the NBCF and this number continues to grow daily.

You can help too! By listing with us or by dropping into the Professionals Mudgee Real Estate office at 91 Market Street to make a donation to the NBCF, or to buy Pink Ribbon merchandise.

We also encourage everyone to head to www.nbcf.org.au to learn more about what can be done to help prevent and detect breast cancer, and to see how your donations can help.

Have you posted a #nomakeupselfie?

no make up selfieIf you’ve been on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram over the past couple of weeks then you’ve probably noticed a lot of bare female faces showing up in your newsfeeds.

That’s because the “no make-up selfie” has gone viral and it is the latest online challenge helping to raise cancer awareness all over the world.

But how can a photo of someone without make-out help the cancer cause?  Well on its own it might not seem like much, but the no make-up posts have certainly gotten all of our attention and according to an article on news.com.au they have helped raise more than $3 million for cancer charities in just 2 days.

But while we admire the bravery and the thought behind a lot of people’s no make-up selfies, we encourage everyone to further help in the fight against cancer by donating to a cancer charity or by sharing a link to a charity website.

Those who know our team at Professionals Mudgee will know that we are all passionate supporters of the National Breast Cancer Foundation and while we haven’t got any no make-up selfies to show, we continue to do our part by donating money from every property we sell to this very important cause and by spreading the word about the importance of raising money for breast cancer research.

Cancer is something that has touched many people’s lives and we can all do our bit to help eradicate this terrible disease by raising awareness, and by donating and educating our friends and families about what they can do to help too.

We encourage everyone to help where they can and we hope to see more of Mudgee’s fresh faces helping to raising cancer awareness in our newsfeeds.

For those who would like to contribute to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and help fund research for prevention and a cure for breast cancer, you can by heading to their website at www.nbcf.org.au.

Girls Shopping Night to Help Raise Funds for Breast Cancer

October is breast cancer awareness month and Mudgee residents can help show their support for the cause by heading to the late night shopping market night being hosted by the wellness centre at the Mudgee Health Service.

The Girls Night In event will be taking place on Thursday October 25 from 6pm to 9pm and it will feature lots of goodies and treats to buy, as well as prizes to be raffled off.

The event is being held to help raise much needed funds for the Mudgee Health Service Oncology Unit and The Cancer Council and it will make for a great night out with the girls for a very worthy cause.

Being that Professionals Mudgee are Diamond Partners with the National Breast Cancer Foundation, we are strong advocates of raising funds and awareness for breast cancer, and we hope that one day the support of communities like Mudgee will help lead to a cure for this terrible disease.

So get your best friends together, buy your pink ribbons this month, and head along to the Girls Night In event at the Mudgee Health Service.

If you would like to find out more details about the Mudgee Health Service’s Girls Night In event then you can call Hayley Gray or Di Thomas at Community Health on 6378 6236 or you can visit the event’s Facebook page by clicking here.

Piece By Piece – We Can Help Find a Cure

As major advocates of breast cancer research and fundraising, we think it’s important to support other companies and groups in their efforts to conquer breast cancer, so we thought today we’d tell you about Ford’s campaign – Piece by Piece, which is about helping raise funds, as well as put together a collage of photos that will help sufferers, survivors, and family and friends to deal with effects of breast cancer.

Piece by Piece supports the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and has begun developing an online mosaic built with the faces and photos of people who want to help the NBCF in their mission to help find a cure.

All you do is choose a number of pieces (your photo will appear this many times), upload your photo and then sponsor an amount as little as $1 per piece that you contribute to the mosaic. You can add a message of encouragement, in memoriam, or whatever you feel will help people who visit the Piece by Piece website.

For those of you in Mudgee who are avid supporters, or if you’d simply like to spread the word about this online masterpiece, you can share this post or visit www.piecebypiece.net.au, where you’ll see the images that make up the mosaic thus far. We hope you can help, because every little piece helps researchers put together the puzzle, and brings us that much closer to finding a cure.

Golfing for a Great Cause

As huge supporters of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and of course anything local, we’d like to ask Mudgee residents who love their golf, to get behind a great charity golf day on Friday 24th of February, benefiting Pioneer House, Mudgee Breast Cancer and Mudgee Junior Golf.

The Cobbora Coal Project Celebrity Classic 2012 is taking place at the Mudgee Golf Club and is open to teams of 6, playing an Ambrose style tournament, followed by a three course dinner and charity auction at Blue Wren Winery.

The cost per team of 6 is $1,000 which covers the golf, dinner and a complementary bottle of wine per two people. Guest speakers at the dinner will be Peter “Sterlo” Sterling, host of The Sunday Footy Show on Channel Nine and Monday Night Football on Triple M, and Ken Sutcliffe, renowned sports reporter from Channel Nine and who also happens to have started his career as a radio presenter/reporter and disc jockey right here in Mudgee!

There are a range of prizes and auction items up for grabs thanks to some great local sponsors including Cobbora Coal, Coates Hire, Ross Granata Motors, Western Conveyer Services and Mid-Western Regional Council. For those who love their golf, and who truly do support the wonderful causes that this event will benefit, then please contact Peter Mayson on 6372 2686 or 0418 287 898.

Don’t Forget Your Pink Ribbon!

As you’d be aware, October is Pink Ribbon Month and during this month many businesses don their pink ribbons to help support the cause. That includes Professionals Mudgee Real Estate where we sell pink ribbons and merchandise on behalf of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) throughout the month of October.

In addition to campaigning in October, Professionals Mudgee also makes a contribution to the NBCF for every home we sell.

Due to our Group’s collective efforts we have now raised in excess of $1,750,000 for the NBCF and thanks to the support from the community this number keeps growing. But whether you purchase your pink ribbons through our office or elsewhere, the only thing that matters is that you do go out and buy your pink ribbon this year, because every dollar counts.

Buying a pink ribbon isn’t just about raising money though, it’s also about showing your support and helping to raise awareness for the women and men suffering from this terrible disease.

Hopefully we are getting closer to finding the cure to Breast Cancer and when we do it will be because of the support of communities like Mudgee who help organisations like the NBCF do the fantastic work that they do with research and support.

Hopefully we’ll see you around the Mudgee community wearing your pink ribbon in support of those people in our lives who are suffering from breast cancer, and if you would like to purchase any Pink Ribbon merchandise or make a donation to the NBCF then drop into Professionals Mudgee on at 91 Market Street and help us get a step closer to a cure.

Help Raise money for Breast Cancer Research

For people who have ever sold or bought a property through Professionals, you’ve helped us raise in excess of a million dollars for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, thank you. We’d like to extend an important invitation to all of the people of Mudgee, to attend our High Tea on Saturday 16th of October to help raise even more for breast cancer research.

It is important work that the NBCF does for women and their families both within our community and across Australia suffering the effects of breast cancer. Professionals has been associated with the NBCF for 10 years, and is now a Diamond Partner. With the help of fundraising events such as our High Tea, we hope to raise even more for breast cancer research.

For $40, you’ll enjoy an indulgent High Tea in the gardens at 2 Market Street in Mudgee, including champagne on arrival and relaxing massage. Our numbers are limited, so book in early or purchase your tickets at our Professionals office in Mudgee located at 91 Market Street.
