Friday Feast – Café 89

Café 89

We visited on 07-10-16

Man down, man down!! We were missing one of the troops today, however we still headed out for the Friday Feast. Café 89 was our place of choice today, and it did not disappoint. The place was buzzing with patrons choosing to either sit indoors or enjoy the sun-drenched footpath dining. Jo and her team provide a wonderful selection of hearty meals catering for breakfast (all day) and lunch. Two of us chose the steak sandwich with roasted mushroom, Swiss cheese and caramelised onions, whilst our counterpart savoured the 89 chicken burger with honey mustard mayo, all served with chips. Other options include corn fritter stack, Spanish baked eggs and the 89 beef burger. The all day breakfast menu is extensive with choices of eggs Benedict, smoked salmon omelette, a healthy breakkie stack or the big breakfast.

Momenti coffee is a huge hit with caffeine aficionados, whilst other drink choices include Tea Tonic – Australia’s Healthiest Tea Range, milkshakes or freshly squeezed juices.

Café 89 (supporting Pink Up Mudgee) has something for everyone whether it’s breakfast, lunch or morning & afternoon tea. Come down and see why this café is so popular.

Friday Feast – Wineglass Bar & Grill

Wineglass Bar & Grill

We visited on 20-09-16

Friday Feast – The team headed to The Wineglass Bar & Grill to savour the delicious menu. Owner and Chef Scott Tracey provides many options that will appeal to all appetites. Select from the $11 lunch specials which include steak sandwich, an Italian pizza with prawns or a fresh Caesar salad. Or for those that want something a little more upmarket, try the chicken risotto, the seafood linguine or the slow roasted pork belly.

If lunch is not for you, why not start the day with a sumptuous breakfast. Choose from hot cakes with honeycomb butter, Belgian waffles with chocolate sauce or something for the health conscious, granola, dried fruit and yoghurt. All of this can be washed down with award-winning Vittoria Coffee.

If a 3 course meal is more your style, come and try the dinner menu which changes seasonally and is prepared using regionally sourced produce. Match this with a selection of local wines for an unforgettable meal.

If you want to make a weekend of it, stay at the Cobb & Co Court Boutique Hotel, Mudgee. Relax in a beautifully appointed queen room or a New York style loft apartment, centrally located and adjoining The Wineglass.

Why not take an opportunity to enjoy all our gorgeous region has to offer? We’re so busy we often forget to appreciate this amazing place we live.

Now, any suggestions for our lunch date next week?

Mudgee Readers’ Festival 2012

“Where too many books are never enough”… the Mudgee Readers’ Festival is coming up on the 18th and 19th of August, and with a clear focus on what readers want, not writers, it’s a festival that Mudgee locals and visitors will surely get value from.

Over the last couple of years that the Mudgee Readers’ Festival has been held, from all reports there has been terrific support, with plenty of discussion and laughter amongst speakers and their audiences.

People of all ages are encouraged to take up reading as a pastime, even with technology these days you can still read digital novels and immerse yourself in a new world, after all, it is the National Year of Reading!

The presentations, panel discussions and literary lunches will be run by authors, talking to you about the books that you read and with children’s authors as well, there’ll be something to entertain all ages.

Don’t forget to take along all of your old and pre-loved books, as there’ll be a second hand book fair at the Readers’ Festival as well where you can buy and sell books of all kinds.

The official programme for the Mudgee Readers’ Festival will be announced on the 4th of July and you can find it at the Mudgee Readers’ Festival website here after that date. If you’d like to join the conversation about the festival, you can also visit their Facebook Page here.

Mudgee’s Newest Store – Target Country

Well it’s been 10 months since we first posted about the upgraded Country Target store that would be coming to Mudgee, and now the day has arrived that we locals will get to experience the store in all its opening glory!

The official opening of Mudgee Target Country is tomorrow (Thursday 31st of May), and from 8am the store is holding  a day of excitement, specials and of course entertainment for the kids to celebrate its first day of trading, and all local Mudgee residents are invited to attend.

Department stores play a vital role in helping maintain the local economy, and it’s hoped that providing a bigger range of products, shoppers will be inclined to buy locally rather than when they’re visiting Sydney or even online which is becoming more and more popular due to convenience, price and range of goods.

We’ll be excited to see the buzz around Church Street tomorrow and throughout the rest of the week. We’re sure that most shoppers will be attending the store at least to check it out, if not to buy up big.

What’s Showtime All About?

Deciding to put your house on the market can be an emotional decision, physically signing the contract to sell your house can be even more emotional, especially if the process has taken longer than you’d expected. So we’ve put together “Showtime”, a booklet of 101 ways to showcase your home for sale. The idea of Showtime is to help give sellers an ultimate advantage in the marketplace and get their home sold for the maximum price in minimal time.

Want a sneak peek at our 101 tips for showcasing your home for sale in Mudgee?

You are not just selling a house; you are selling a lifestyle and a dream. In this guide we will step through what it takes to highlight your property’s best features, try to look at each room as objectively as possible and perhaps even have an impartial person with you for an honest opinion.

The driveway is one of the first impressions so make sure it is cleaned and free of weeds (for paved or stone driveways). Your driveway and paths could benefit from a pressure clean and re-seal to really lift their presentation.

Include your children in the selling process, take time to explain the move to your children, if they understand what’s going on they are more likely to find the moving process a smooth one. Ask for your children’s help in making their beds and picking up in their rooms prior to showings.

These are just a few of the tips out of the 101 we have listed in Showtime! As a special offer, local property owners are being offered a FREE copy of “Showtime”, an essential guide for property sellers with 101 ways to showcase your home. BUT, we’ve only been able to secure a limited number of free copies, so when you find a letter in your mailbox from us, Adam & Chandelle Woods of Professionals Mudgee, be sure to contact us!

PS: Want Tips on Showcasing your Home?

Dear Mudgee property owners, buyers and sellers,

If a property in your street has just come onto the market for sale, chances are that you’ll be interested in how the sale goes, what the property is advertised at and ultimately what it sells for. Why? Because it may have a bearing on what your home is worth in the real estate sales market.

One of the great things about being a local real estate agency in Mudgee, is that we are blessed with one of the best regions in Australia (that’s what we think), to meet people and help them transition to their new home and lifestyle here in Mudgee.

Another great part of being in real estate, is that we learn lots of great ways to help people sell their home for an optimum price, so if you happen to see one of our letters in your mailbox, make sure you take notice, because there’s a bonus little offer at the end which may give you a competitive edge when it comes to selling your own home.
