The weather is starting to warm up here in Mudgee and that means it’s almost time for the summer swimming season to begin.
The region’s pools, located at Mudgee, Gulgong and Kandos, will officially open to the public this Saturday, September 26.
From then, all pools will be open 7 days a week, excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day, until the last Sunday of April.
A visit to the pool is a great way to spend a day out in the local region. Studies have shown that swimming has many valuable health and psychological benefits that can’t be achieved from other activities.
It also has a number of safety benefits for children and adults, increasing water awareness and lifesaving skills.
Plus, swimming is a fun and easy way to cool down when the temperatures get too high!
The region’s pools are for all ages and they are fully supervised by qualified staff. Additional lifeguards are put on during the school holidays.
Pool entry tickets are very affordable. It’s just $3 for a single adult visit, $2 for children and pensioners and $1 for spectators. Season passes are also available at discounted rates.
Contact the Mid-Western Regional Council if you would like to find out any further details about the region’s public pools.
Will you be visiting one of our local pools this spring/summer season? Or are you lucky enough to have a pool at your Mudgee home?
