Many Mudgee locals consider February 14 (aka Valentine’s Day) to be the most romantic day of the year, and a time where you can shower that special someone in your life with gifts and attention to show them just how much they mean to you.
While many of you have probably already made plans or reservations for this Saturday, if you haven’t then here are some local events in Mudgee you might want to check out –
Valentine’s Dinner at Wineglass Bar and Grill – If you want to wine and dine your Valentine then head to Wineglass Bar and Grill where they will be serving up a 5 course degustation dinner including a glass of sparkling wine on arrival. Cost is $88.00 per person and bookings are essential. Visit www.wineglassbarandgrill.com.au for more information.
Valentine’s Wines in the Vines – Take your Valentine to Short Sheep Micro Winery where they can enjoy tasting a Semillon on arrival and then stroll through the vineyard tasting a sparkling Cabernet Rose in the Cabernet Block, a Merlot in amongst the Merlot vines, and a Reserve Shiraz at the top of the Shiraz! A generous vineyard platter with cheese and other local produce will be served on tables within the vineyard rows by candlelight. Cost is $35 per person and bookings are essential. Visit www.shortsheep.com.au/valentines-day for more details.
Bubbly Breakfast at the Track – For all the morning people, you might like to spend your Valentine’s Day at Gooree Park where you can enjoy a hosted tour, continental breakfast and sparkling wine on an idyllic hilltop overlooking the racetrack. Cost is $50 per person and further details can be found at www.gooreepark.com/events.
Italian inspired dining at Alby and Esthers – You can enjoy a 3 course Italian inspired set menu for $45 per person at Alby and Esthers this Valentine’s Day. Make your reservation by calling 6372 1555.
Putta Bucca Carp Muster – While this isn’t necessarily a Valentine’s event, it’s something that the whole family can take part in. Taking place at the Putta Bucca Wetlands, there will be a Biodiversity Walk from 9am and fishing competitions with categories for adults, teenagers and children. There will also be prizes and a free sausage sizzle and drinks also available. For all further information, contact Bethany Greenfield on 6378 2850.
We know that we’ve just touched that surface and that there will be plenty more Mudgee events taking place this Valentine’s Day, so if you know of any more than please feel free to share them here for the rest of the Mudgee community.
