Relay For Life 2012 Wrap Up

The 2012 Mudgee and District Relay For Life in May 2012 was a tremendous success and now that the final tally has been calculated, we’d love to thank all of the locals, friends, family and even people from interstate who have kindly donated money towards our fundraising efforts.

Our Professionals Mudgee team came close to raising $4,000 dollars of the overall $169,367.28 that was raised in the Mudgee region. The region’s goal of $75,000 was more than doubled in actual fundraising, and what an amazing effort by everyone involved – a whopping 66 teams!

Just to recap, in mid May and with a great crowd of 868 people we were off and walking, even in the brisk air of a Saturday and Sunday morning, and we were pumped about the funds we’d raised for the Cancer Council. We were entertained, and certainly kept on our toes throughout the entire event. Our legs have well and truly recovered now and we’d like to offer a massive “congratulations” to the organisers for making it such a successful event.

We’d love to see these efforts continued next year and hope to see all the friendly faces from this year at the next event. We’ll keep you posted with details on the I Love Mudgee blog and facebook page!

Thought About Going “Dry” for July?

Even though Mother Nature doesn’t seem to be thinking about anything “dry” at the moment, now is the time to start thinking about whether you can go “dry” for the month of July as part of the Dry July campaign.

Giving up the booze next month and raising funds will help improve the lives of adults living with cancer. The annual Dry July campaign encourages people from around Australia and New Zealand to give up alcoholic beverages in support of raising funds to benefit adult cancer patients and to help raise awareness of drinking habits and living a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

It may seem like a challenge that you can’t survive, but there are ways to boost your fundraising and being allowed a night off for something special, by way of a Golden Ticket – your pass for a day.

If you go through the whole month though, consider the benefits to yourself as well – you won’t have a hangover preventing you from being productive, there won’t be any outrageous drunken photos of you posted on facebook for the month, and of course your liver and kidneys can have a good cleanse. The best part though of course is raising funds for people who really need it, with the proceeds of Dry July going to hospitals around the country.

Registration for Dry July has now opened, so head to www.dryjuly.com today, sign up and start sharing with your family and friends and collecting donations. Mudgee is a very generous community, and we’re sure there will be people locally who would benefit from local fundraisers!

Update on Mudgee Relay for Life 2012

We’re coming a strong 8th out of 52 teams taking part in the Mudgee Relay For Life on May 12th 2012, but we’re not quite at our fundraising target yet, so we’re asking for support by the way of sharing this with your family and friends or kindly donating as much or as little as you can to our team’s fundraising efforts.

We have been very humbled by the kind contributions that not only have our local counterparts donated, but also our wider networks across much of the country. It means a lot to have the support of our networks of friends and family, and we thank you all very much for your generosity.

One of the great things about having such a wonderful community behind us is knowing that all the efforts we go to to raise funds, it is ultimately our beloved community that is helping the Cancer Council find ways to manage and research cancer and help cancer patients.

There would be few people in Mudgee who don’t know someone who has been affected by cancer of some type, so it’s something that we know is close to the Mudgee’s community’s heart. Together we can help kick cancer’s butt, so again, we thank everyone who’s shown their support thus far, and ask anyone who can, to share this post, or donate to our team!

To get involved or find out which teams are currently registered, visit the Mudgee Relay For Life page here or to help team “Professionals Real Estate Mudgee” achieve our goal of $5000, you can click here to donate or join our team. We’d love to have your support!

Mudgee Relay For Life 2012

It’s on again this year; the Mudgee Relay For Life! We’re keen to get as many people involved as we can and whilst there are already a number of registered teams we’d love to see more Mudgee support, whether by way of donations, spreading the word or participation.

The February information evening had a great turnout, and we’d love to encourage anyone who is participating or just wanting to know more about the event to come along the March information session being held on the 7th of March 2012 from 6pm at Club Mudgee Soldiers Club, 99 Mortimer Street. There are monthly information sessions leading up to the event that takes place on the 12th of May 2012.

Early bird registrations are being accepted until the 27th of April 2012 for just $15 per person, and $20 thereafter. The Relay For Life is a great way to show your support for the Cancer Council and the work that they do, as well as see great parts of the Mudgee Region.

To get involved or find out which teams are currently registered, visit the Mudgee Relay For Life page here or to help team “Professionals Real Estate Mudgee” achieve our goal of $1500, you can click here to donate or join our team. We’d love to have your support!

Piece By Piece – We Can Help Find a Cure

As major advocates of breast cancer research and fundraising, we think it’s important to support other companies and groups in their efforts to conquer breast cancer, so we thought today we’d tell you about Ford’s campaign – Piece by Piece, which is about helping raise funds, as well as put together a collage of photos that will help sufferers, survivors, and family and friends to deal with effects of breast cancer.

Piece by Piece supports the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and has begun developing an online mosaic built with the faces and photos of people who want to help the NBCF in their mission to help find a cure.

All you do is choose a number of pieces (your photo will appear this many times), upload your photo and then sponsor an amount as little as $1 per piece that you contribute to the mosaic. You can add a message of encouragement, in memoriam, or whatever you feel will help people who visit the Piece by Piece website.

For those of you in Mudgee who are avid supporters, or if you’d simply like to spread the word about this online masterpiece, you can share this post or visit www.piecebypiece.net.au, where you’ll see the images that make up the mosaic thus far. We hope you can help, because every little piece helps researchers put together the puzzle, and brings us that much closer to finding a cure.

Cancer touches too many lives, and we’re no exception, so this cause is extremely important to the Woods family, and of course all of the team here at Professionals Mudgee Real Estate. We’d love to encourage as many people from the Mudgee community to participate or contribute where possible, whether it’s with us or another team.

Not only are we raising money for a worthy cause, we’re also finding that by getting our team involved, we’re reinforcing the strong bonds we have with the people in our business, which is important if we’re to be a successful business. It’s a win-win!

The event isn’t until May, but fundraising has already started, so if you’d like to know more about joining in the Relay For Life 2012 here in Mudgee, visit the Mudgee Relay For Life web page, or join/sponsor the Professionals Mudgee team here.

Could You Walk to Work?

Keeping healthy and fit is the goal of so many people, however sometimes it’s hard to find the time to fit in exercise into our busy lifestyles. But what if it was for someone else’s benefit as well as your own?

Mudgee Relay For Life – Volunteers Wanted

After reading an article in the Mudgee Guardian, we thought we’d put the word out there to members of the Mudgee community, calling for volunteers to help with ideas and event organising for the 2012 Mudgee Relay For Life.

Help Raise money for Breast Cancer Research

For people who have ever sold or bought a property through Professionals, you’ve helped us raise in excess of a million dollars for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, thank you. We’d like to extend an important invitation to all of the people of Mudgee, to attend our High Tea on Saturday 16th of October to help raise even more for breast cancer research.

It is important work that the NBCF does for women and their families both within our community and across Australia suffering the effects of breast cancer. Professionals has been associated with the NBCF for 10 years, and is now a Diamond Partner. With the help of fundraising events such as our High Tea, we hope to raise even more for breast cancer research.

For $40, you’ll enjoy an indulgent High Tea in the gardens at 2 Market Street in Mudgee, including champagne on arrival and relaxing massage. Our numbers are limited, so book in early or purchase your tickets at our Professionals office in Mudgee located at 91 Market Street.

We look forward to seeing you there and thank you in advance for your contribution to helping find a cure for breast cancer.
