Are you looking for trees to create a wind break along your property’s boundary?
The Mid-Western Regional Council is currently offering native trees for FREE to eligible property owners in the region who are wishing to create a wind break along their boundary fences.
There are a limited number of trees available. Priority will be given to properties that are adjacent to high conservation value roadsides, and landholders who are willing to provide in-kind assistance and a commitment to ongoing maintenance.
Trees can provide a number of benefits to property owners. Not only do they offer a wind break but they can also provide privacy, improve air quality, provide shade and reduce noise pollution, as well as many other benefits.
Healthy and attractive trees can also significantly increase property value and make it more aesthetically appealing.
Due to the many benefits that trees provide it is well worth applying to be a part of the native tree program if you think you may be eligible.
The trees are being offered in conjunction with the Central Tablelands Local Land Services (LLS), as part of a project that aims to plant 4,000 tubestock trees along areas of high conservation value roadsides, or roadsides with habitat characteristics for threatened species.
To find out more about the program, contact the Mid-Western Regional Council on 6378 2850, but get in quick because applications close on Friday 16 February 2018.
