Local residents are set to benefit from exciting new community infrastructure projects thanks to the Mid-Western Regional Council securing $340,000 in funding from the NSW Government.
A large chunk of the funds ($240,000) will go towards the construction of a brand new Adventure Playground in Gulgong.
The purpose-built facility will be built next to the Gulgong Pool and Billy Dunn Oval and will include interactive play equipment including flying fox, shelters, landscaping and picnic tables, as well as a youth hub with wi-fi and an upgrade to the existing skate park.
Dubbo MP Troy Grant and Bathurst MP Paul Toole announced the project last month and stated that the project would gain funding through the state government’s Clubgrants Infrastructure Grants Program.
These grants are funded through a rebate on the state’s registered clubs’ gaming machines and reinvested back into community projects.
Where else will state funding go?
On top of the region’s funding for the Gulgong Adventure Park, an additional $100,000 will be provided for the upgrade and extension of Rylstone Kandos Preschool through Round 1 of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.
