Sliding and flipping at the Mudgee skatepark is about to get a whole lot more fun, thanks to a planned upgrade from the Mid-Western Regional Council.
A draft redesign and extension of the park, located on the corner of Perry and Horatio Streets, is currently available for community feedback on the council’s website.
Users of the park were invited to have their say on the park earlier in the year via surveys and an onsite meeting to help come up with the current draft plan.
The council noted that park users were looking to see a vast array of items installed at the skate park including pipes, box jumps, bowls, spines, step ups and street obstacles. These were identified as priority installations in addition to further drainage, shade and seating.
This community feedback has been incorporated into the current proposed design and park users are encouraged to have their say yet again before a final design concept is selected.
The upgrade is being undertaken as part of the council’s 2017/18 Operational Plan. An upgrade to the Gulgong skatepark has been proposed in the draft 2018/19 Operational Plan to be considered by council this year.
Those wanting to have their say can do so by sending feedback to council via email@example.com by 12 noon Friday 6 April.
