The small village of Windeyer will come alive on Saturday 15 September when it hosts its annual Festival of the Lambs.
The family friendly day out will be a celebration of everything to do with lamb.
There will be shearing demonstrations, wool talks, animals you can pat and even sheep racing.
You will also be able to enjoy some delicious paddock to plate produce, stroll through market stalls and learn more about the region’s gold prospecting days.
The Lamb Fest originally came about to highlight the village’s special history.
Windeyer is a fascinating village found just east of Mudgee. It has a rich gold mining history but is now better know for its farming and superfine wool.
In recent times it has also gained a solid reputation for producing lamb for restaurant tables.
The festival will be a fun day out for all and a great opportunity to support one of our local farming communities.
