Books will be taking over Mudgee next month when the Mudgee Readers’ Festival returns for its eighth year.
Taking place from August 10 to 13, the festival will bring an opportunity to enjoy a wide range of authors and literature styles. There’s a chance to chat with the authors as well as attend literary lunches and dinners.
The festival has been developed to promote and share the joy of reading with people of all ages, and it keeps growing too, with this year’s festival taking place over 4 days.
With so many events to enjoy there’s bound to be something of interest for everybody, whether it’s a late night poetry session accompanied by wine and music, a session with the Bibliotherapist to help you decide what books to read next or a Long Lazy Lunch where you can listen to the adventures of novelist Matthew Thompson.
For those wanting to get their hands on some new reading materials, a popular part of the festival is the book swap event at the Mudgee library. The event is free to attend and everybody is welcome to bring along a book to swap for something new.
