Mudgee artists will have a chance to showcase their creative talents at this year’s popular Sculptures in the Garden exhibition.
The annual event will take place over two days, Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th October 2017, in the garden at Rosby vineyard.
This not for profit outdoor exhibition gives local, regional and interstate artists an avenue to showcase their works in beautiful rural surroundings, with an estimated 3,000 visitors anticipated to visit this year’s event.
All Mudgee artists are strongly encouraged to submit their works to the event as it is a great opportunity to gain exposure and there is a high chance that the artworks will sell, with 50 per cent of over 230 sculptures being sold last year.
The exhibition offers some great prizes for participating artists and it also helps raise funds for a very worthy cause. All funds raised from the event go to the local branch of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and also contributes funds to acquire works for the Mudgee region’s public sculpture collection.
A range of artistic styles will be on display at the event however artists this year are encouraged to submit pieces that can be enjoyed without the sense of sight.
These ‘sensory sculptures’ will be able to be enjoyed by being felt, heard or even smelt and those thinking about entering in this category will need to be happy to potentially have guests touching your work,
Entries for Sculptures in the Garden 2017 are open until Friday 8 September and those wanting to find out more should visit www.sculpturesinthegarden.com.au.
