An analysis from travel booking website Booking.com has revealed that Mudgee is the number one destination for food in the country.
Mudgee beat out other popular foodie destinations around Australia including Orange, Adelaide, Hobart and Daylesford in Victoria.
The website’s analysis looked at destinations that had the most endorsements for ‘food’ by Booking.com travellers from Australia.
It was revealed that when choosing a destination, the majority (75%) of global travellers would likely travel somewhere known for its great food and drink.
Young people are most likely to travel to enjoy good food with the research showing that 79% of travellers between the ages of 18 and 34 were considering travelling somewhere that’s specifically known for its gastronomic delights.
Furthermore, almost one in 10 (8%) people have travelled in the last year to fulfil their hobby of fine dining and 7% for their passion for wine.
With so many fantastic restaurants and wineries to visit in the Mudgee region, it’s no surprise that people are travelling here to enjoy our wonderful food and drink experiences.
