Local business owners asked to contribute to region’s economic development strategy

Mid-Western Regional Council is asking local business owners to play an active role in the region’s development by providing their input on their views of the current business environment.

Council is currently undergoing a review of the Mid-Western Region Economic Development Strategy and they are conducting an online survey to help gather local knowledge and insights.

The survey contains questions on things such as what industry you work in, how many people you employ and whether annual sales have been increasing or not over the last year.

Results from the survey will be used to help inform regional economic development policy, and identify actions that can be undertaken to support economic growth in the region.

Strategic consulting firm, Balmoral Group is working with council on the project.

Local business owners interested in providing their views on the region’s business landscape should visit council’s website to fill in the survey. The survey should take about 15 – 20 minutes to complete.

Those who would prefer to fill out a printed version of the survey can have one mailed to them by contacting the Survey Manager, Paul Yacobellis, of The Balmoral Group at 02 9247 8670 or pyacobellis@balmoralgroup.com.au(mailto:pyacobellis@balmoralgroup.com.au).

It’s important for local business owners to take the time to fill in the business survey to help council gain an accurate snapshot of the region and what is needed to help it grow and prosper.

Further questions about this project or other enquiries regarding economic development in the region, should be directed to the Economic Development Team on 02 6378 2885.
