‘Tis the season of giving and many families in Mudgee have been helping less fortunate families in the region by placing a gift under the Wishing Tree at Club Mudgee.
Presents placed under the Wishing Tree are collected by the charity organisation Barnardos Mudgee, and delivered to children and young adults up to 18 years in the Mid-Western Region who are going through tough times, and who might not otherwise receive a Christmas gift.
The organisation supports over 350 families and individuals per year through a range of programs. They help support parents to be fully prepared for the arrival of their new baby, through to teenagers who may be experiencing difficulties at home, school or in the community.
Sadly, Christmas can be a difficult time for many families when it should be a time for celebration.
The simple act of purchasing a gift and putting it under the Wishing Tree can help provide a special Christmas for a young person in need as they get to share in the joy of receiving a gift, something that many of us may take for granted.
How to donate:
Donating a gift is easy, but you need to be quick because donations are only being collected until Friday 21 December 2017.
To donate all you need to do is head into Club Mudgee, choose a gift tag, purchase your gift and wrap, place your gift tag on it and bring back into the club and place in the sleigh, which can be found in the main lounge area.
If you want to find out more about who you can bring a little magic to children in need this Christmas, contact Club Mudgee by calling 02 6372 1922.
