December is a great time to be in the Mudgee region. The buildings are decked out in festive lights and decorations and there’s plenty of delicious seasonal food on offer in our local cafes and restaurants.
Another reason to love Mudgee at this time of year is all of the fantastic local events.
This weekend there will be a number of exciting events to head along to so you can get into the festive spirit.
Gulgong Christmas Celebrations – December 9
Gulgong will be celebrating Christmas this Saturday with a Christmas Party at ANZAC Memorial Park.
It’s set to be a fun-filled afternoon for the whole family with a free BBQ, jumping castle, face painting, pony rides, RFS water slides, chocolate wheel, raffles and prizes and a special visit from Santa.
Rylstone Kandos Rotary Christmas Carnival – December 9
For a whole heap of festive fun head along to the Rylstone Kandos Rotary Christmas Carnival on Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
Held at the Rylstone Showground, this annual community event will include Christmas music, a jumping castle and rides for children, sausage sizzle, stalls and of course a visit from Santa.
Mudgee Lions Twilight Market and Festival – December 9
Mudgee Lions Club will be holding a combined market and Christmas festival for the whole community to enjoy.
To be held at Mudgee’s Lawson Park from 5pm, there will be something for everyone including a jumping castle, chocolate wheel, games, prizes, giveaways, obstacle course, food and stalls.
Cherry Picking @ Roth Family Orchard – December 9-10
Pick your Christmas cherries fresh from the trees at Roth Family Orchard, located at 108 Eurunderee Lane.
Head along in the morning to get the freshest fruit and don’t forget to take a box or esky along so you can take your cherries home with you.
