The team headed off to Alby + Esthers for the Professional’s Friday Feast. There is nothing better than getting out of the office for lunch and the sun drenched courtyard was a prime position.
Owner and licensee Leigh Sargent has created a menu with a strong local accent, uncomplicated and delicious food. All dishes are generously proportioned and memorable, like the house made beans with ham hock and poached egg, the famous jaffle with smoked ham, egg and swiss cheese or the new Alby Sandwich with chicken, bacon, cheese, beetroot relish and horseradish cream.
Everyday there is a beautiful selection of freshly baked cakes, muffins and tarts. Enjoy the locally roasted coffee from Yarrabin Road roasters, or for something refreshing choose from the Crave Natural kombucha or the Hello Lovelies cordials.
The only downside of the day was that we were too early to enjoy a cleansing ale or a chilled glass of wine. Alby + Esthers turns into a Tapas Wine Bar on Friday and Saturday evenings, offering share platters with a selection of beers, ciders, apertifs & wines. Locals Manners Wine, Burnbrae Wines, LOWE Wines & Heslop Wines head the list.
