Mudgee Community Transport, which is part of the Mid-Western Regional Council’s Community Services Department, is currently searching for volunteers who are willing to help provide transport to local residents.
The organisation is non-profit and it helps provide transport for people in the local region who are frail aged, disabled or disadvantaged.
Mudgee doesn’t have a lot of public transport services, so the Mugee Community Transport service is an essential service for a lot of people in the area who wouldn’t otherwise be able to get around town. The transport service covers trips in the local council area, as well as trips to Sydney and regional locations.
The service helps transport about 2000 clients around the Mudgee region every year, taking them to medical appointments, shopping trips, social, recreational and other outings.
The drivers who volunteer for Mudgee Community Transport would no doubt find the job to be extremely rewarding, as they have the opportunity to help provide an essential service to so many people in the Mudgee community.
If you’re interested in helping out you can contact the Mudgee Community Transport on (02) 6378 2710. If you’re after any more details about the service you might also like to visit http://www.midwestern.nsw.gov.au/Community-Services/CommunityTransport/.
