If you’re an avid reader, then you should know that 2012 is your year. It’s the National Year of Reading in Australia which means that libraries and book stores that are taking part in the Love 2 Read campaign will be holding fun, educational reading activities to encourage people to read more.
Whilst the Mudgee Town Hall is being renovated, the Mudgee Library is operating from The Stables at 84 Market Street, so if you haven’t been there since it moved in January, now is a great time to get reacquainted with your passion for reading. You can find addresses of Gulgong and Kandos libraries for here.
There may also be local book stores participating in the Love 2 Read campaign, so check out the www.love2read.org.au website to find upcoming events in the area, or in other locations around Australia.
So, if you love to read and haven’t done it in a while, now’s the time to get back into it. If you’re not much of a reader, then maybe you might want to give it a try, whether it’s to educate yourself about something you’re interested in or to help you escape to another world for a while. Remember one of Mudgee’s cultural events, the Mudgee Readers’ Festival is happening on the 18th and 19th of August 2012, so start reading now!
