Mudgee’s school kids will soon be on winter school holidays again, which are coming up for most NSW schools from the Monday 2nd to Friday 13th of July 2012. Even though we’re still a month away, if you’re keen to get your kids into school holiday programs, now is the time to start planning and booking spaces.
There are plenty of day trips you can do with the kids to one of the numerous National Parks or Nature Reserves that surround the Mudgee region, including Wollemi National Park, Munghorn Gap Nature Reserve, Goulburn River National Park, Frog Rock and Windamere Dam to name a few. Take the hiking shoes, camera, a bite to eat, maybe even the fishing rod or bicycles, and you can experience some wonderful natural environments that are just a stones throw from our front doorstep.
Mudgee, Gulgong and Kandos Libraries usually hold planned school holiday activities, and whilst the information isn’t available at the time of writing this post, check back to the Mid Western Regional Council website over coming days and weeks to see what activities are available. We’ve sent a little note to the Council asking for the information to be updated as soon as possible.
Don’t forget about the old favourites like heading to Mudgee’s Miniature Railway (second Sunday of the month), arts and crafts, Church or Lawson Park markets, and other timeless entertainment both at home and out and about.
If you know of other school holiday activities that are planned for the Winter 2012 holiday period, please feel free to post links or details to our I Love Mudgee facebook page or comment below!
