Community Groups: Do You Need Government Funding?

If you’re part of a local community organisation that requires funding, then you may want to consider applying for a share in $300,000 worth of funding as part of the 2011 Community Building Partnership Program provided by the NSW State Government.

The funding is part of a $35 million initiative by the State Government, which is offering $300,000 to each electoral district in NSW.
 
The goal of the program is to help support the diverse needs of local communities and to help move essential projects and local infrastructure forward.
 
Groups applying to be a part of the program need to be able to demonstrate how their project can “benefit their local community through the building or improvement of facilities to deliver positive social, recreational or environmental outcomes”.
 
The 2011 Community Building Program is currently open for application and it will close on Monday, October 31st 2011. All applications have to be submitted online, and you can read the guidelines and FAQ’s on the below website. Submitted projects need to commence by mid-2012 and be completed by the end of June 2013. Successful applications will be announced by the NSW Premier in March 2012.
